This picture was taken sometime during 1997, the first year of my car. At the time is was still bone stock and it wasnt even smoking yet!! I bought it with only 70,000 miles on it and the paint was cherry. Little did i know that civics are weak but i found out real quick when the tranny went at 86,000nmiles:(...it must of been all thoes burnouts. The spider gear was all torn up and the shifter fork for 1st and 2nd gear broke and the other had a lot of wear and tear on them. So it wasnt worth rebuilding it so i bought i used one for $1700.00 and my clutch was on its way out too so i replaced that as well with a stock clutch. The summer of 98 my car starting burning oil, but nothing to bad though. only when i was idling for a while or just started up the car, but the summer of 99 it smoke like crazy and all the time. When ever someone was behind me i would floor it and go all out and at times we couldnt even see the person behind us because all of the smoke i was putting out. Thoes were the good days. The car laster until the winter of 99. It was december and i went to go pick up nads and when i parked the car it started making a little knocking noise as if the valve were hitting the pistons so i tunr of the car and picked her up and then when i started up the car the knocking was so bad that the car stalled while idling. So i put it to the floor and started it up and drove it home. I didnt hit any stop lights or sign which was a good thing becauce i wouldnt of made it home. I was going as fast as i could which was barely 50mph!! There is a stop sign before my house and u could see if there was people coming and there wasnt so i just held it to the floor and blew by it and my car totally stopped running so i held me foot on the clutch and coasted in my driveway. At the time i was broke and needed my car to go to work and school. All i had was my bike so i road that untill late december. I got my motor rebuilt at a place in glenns fall, NY for $2200.00 including installation.
